I’m sad to say that my Nike Training Club experience has come to an end…I just completed my sixth and final week, and the finale is bittersweet. I feel accomplished because I stuck with an exercise routine for six weeks straight, but I also wish there were more workouts for me to do! I guess this means I’ll switch my “Get Lean” routine to one of the other options. Now which one to pick? My choices include “Get Toned,” “Get Strong,” or “Get Focused.” What do you think?
Overall I REALLY liked the “Get Lean” option at the intermediate level. It fit perfectly into my schedule and the results were EXACTLY what I was looking for. I didn’t bulk up per se, but I look and feel tighter, leaner, and stronger. This, paired with a healthy diet, left me with visible results that I really love.
The “Get Focused” routine also looks really cool and really convenient. This option lets you choose a specific part of your body (butt, arms, back, abs, shoulders, legs, etc) and dedicates 15 intense minutes to the chosen body part. The burn is strong, but so worth the results. This option is also great if you are on the go. I mean 15-minutes isn’t too much time, right?
Anyway, back to the workout I did this week – the “Mean Machine.” Surprisingly, the Mean Machine wasn’t as mean as I was anticipating… I think this is because of the five workouts I mastered leading up to it. Those workouts kicked my butt, however, it was so worth it because I kicked the Mean Machine’s butt! I powered through the 45-minute workout tackling single leg deadlifts, alternating medicine ball pushups, and squat arm curls. What I liked best about this workout was that I had done all of these exercises before – Mean Machine combined all the previous workouts into one super workout. I felt my core being worked, my balance being tested, and my body being challenged. It was wonderful.
I wish I could say, “Tune in next week to see my progress” or “Take the Nike Fit challenge with me!” But I will leave you with these words: Working out can be easy and it totally doesn’t have to be a drag. Make it a hobby and workout with your friends. Workout in your dorm, apartment, backyard or at the gym. The Nike Training App makes getting in shape SO easy and convenient. I promise the feeling after you complete a workout is so worth it.
