Two months after five USWNT players accused U.S. Soccer of wage discrimination in an action filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Women’s National Team continues to publicly advocate for their cause.
This week, USWNT stars Hope Solo, Becky Sauerbrunn and Ali Krieger went on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” to discuss their treatment by U.S. Soccer, focusing on the issues of both wage discrimination and field conditions in a segment with “Daily Show” correspondent Hasan Minhaj.
The USWNT players believe that they have not been treated fairly by U.S. Soccer, which pays the men’s side four times more than the women’s side, even though the women are ranked No. 1 in the world and have brought in significantly more revenue in 2015 after winning the Women’s World Cup.
