The NWSL held its 5th annual college draft on Thursday, Jan. 12th, at the NSCAA Convention in Los Angeles, Calif. A total of 40 players were drafted over four rounds, with Rose Lavelle from the University of Wisconsin being the No. 1 overall pick.

Five of USC’s 2016 College Cup champions were chosen, including three in the first round, those players being Morgan Andrews, Kayla Mills, and Miranda Freeman. Katie Johnson was picked in the second round, and Sammy Jo Prudhomme was later picked in the 4th round.
